I usually don’t get much time to sit and write to you but I thought I would take a little time today. Usually my thoughts (those I wish to write about) come and go so quickly that if I don’t catch them in mid-motion and put them to paper, they are gone.
I (obviously) enjoy the articles I post here. I believe these writings and sentiments are vital in bringing back, as I say in my “About” Page, the Sense of the Sacredness in our homes, our Churches, our society.
They helped to form me as I didn’t have much to go on when I first got married. Thankfully, I had come in contact with people who loved the old-fashioned goodness of days gone by and, because I was teachable, I learned from them.
I saw the wreckage around me and what people of the world were striving for, how far families had gone from this wholesomeness of the “back-thens” (as my kids call the good old days) and I knew I wanted something different for my own life.
Enter the books, articles, etc.….and why I have a passion to share them with you!
I do feel at times (through some comments, especially on my FB page) that some of you get discouraged because of the ideals that are laid out for us in some of the articles.
I did not get discouraged when I read these things as a young mother.
Don’t get me wrong, I have many struggles like all of us. But these same ideals that are discussed in many of the articles laid out a standard for me. It gave me that goal to strive for, just as we are to strive for heaven….which can seem very out of reach sometimes…
If we are not climbing up the ladder…we are slipping down.
It is important to remember that God takes us where we are at. He works miracles if we allow Him, no matter where we have been or how far along we are in the journey…
So…. pray like it all depends on God and work like it all depends on you. This will be a mighty force that will help you and your family win, win, win!
Don’t give up, don’t get discouraged…there is always room for improvement and always God’s merciful Hand reaching down to help us along the way!
The Benedictine Nuns in Gower, MO had invited people to come and watch the Eclipse at their convent property as they were in the path of totality. A few photos courtesy of Isabel Bogowith:
These dear sisters are amazing!
Here is a photo of the veiling of six of the nuns just last Sunday!
They are also quite enterprising! They were able to rid themselves of a big debt (the convent, etc.) with their voices! Their albums reached top of the classical genre and continue to bring in an income!
Check these wonderful Traditional Nuns out at their website here!
Just a side note and asking for prayers. Our Rosie was supposed to go on Friday and spend a week with the nuns. Her health is not robust and so she has had to postpone. Please keep Rosie in your prayers.
And now it is time!

I have sent you an email, Malani! Congratulations!
As Mary, beautiful and perfect, is the sublime model for every Catholic wife, so Joseph, “the just man,”‘ gentle, kind, and chaste, is a model for every Catholic husband. When God blesses your home with human life, the fruit of love, your family becomes like the Holy Family. In the family life of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph are exemplified the proper relations that should exist between husband and wife, parents and children. By practicing the domestic virtues of charity, obedience, and mutual help, Jesus, Mary, and Joseph sanctified family life. -Lawrence G. Lovasik.
